What it is:

The online mentoring programme takes the form of an intensive training course, divided into activities of

individual study and exercises, group activities, plenary discussions, and mentoring and tutoring activities

dedicated to the development of each participant's specific skills.

Objectives:

The training programme aims to build a community of professionals who:

• are aware of the framework of World Heritage and how their national system relates to it
• are familiar with World Heritage processes from nomination to daily management to decision-making processes, such as impact assessment
• can identify heritage values and attributes and relate them to a range of management processes
• can demonstrate their competencies in applying theory to practical tasks required at heritage places
• can apply their knowledge and competencies to addressing the specific issues found in the African continent and contribute to improving the credibility of the World Heritage List.
